The Alhambra is, of course, an incredibly dense and complicated tapestry of building projects. What did you make of the entire site? To what extent did your several hours of staring at geometric patterned tile constructions, with compass and straightedge in your hand, help you appreciate the design motifs throughout the Nasrid palaces? What did you make of the odd conjunction of Charles V’s palace immediately adjacent to the earlier Nasrid compound?
